Master's Professional and Technical Communications - Emerging Literacies

Starting in the fall of 2004, formative assessments will be completed at mid-semester for graduate students in the Professional and Technical Communications (MS-PTC) major. At semester end, summative assessments will be completed based on student online portfolios. This two step process began in the fall 2003 and was shared at the faculty level through the spring of 2004.

The objective is to identify individual areas of improvement for each student. The summative assessment not only benefits the student but also identifies strengths and areas in need of
improvement to strengthen the program.
