Cultural History - Program Assessment

In the fall of 2002, program assessment was standardized for cultural history. A cultural history committee was formed to establish guidelines for program modifications. The modifications were the result of assessment findings discussed from informal committee meetings. The focus shifted away from best papers and placed emphasis on the writing intense research papers.

A new approach is being tested for the fall 2004 semester. The emphasis will be on building writing intense multi-voice research papers. This semester-long research paper will include synthesis and citations. Dr. Kimmelman will be teaching the course himself to carefully monitor the success and make minor adjustments that seem necessary.
